The Kongsberg ECDIS type-specific training course is designed to equip officers with the necessary system knowledge to operate this ECDIS for watchkeeping in compliance with the STCW and ISM Code regulations. The training program covers the requirements of IMO Model Course 1.27 and MCA MIN-503(M) equipment familiarisation for the Kongsberg ECDIS functions and controls. The course is conducted through guided tutorials and allows for three weeks to complete the course, with the option to repeat Modules as required. Upon completion of the course, officers will be required to take a one-hour final exam, which will lead to an individual certificate.
